Title

 Equipping of Sports Field in Novi Karlovci with a New Lighting

Problem

 Novi Karlovci’s sports fields for basketball, soccer and handball are the only ones of that kind in the village, but they could not be used during the evening hours, since there are no electricity facilities. Therefore, the sportsmen could not use them during school terms since during the day it is used by primary school students. The school had provided necessary foundations for the searchlights, but lacked the financial means to complete this project and solve the problem.

Solution

 Metal foundations were placed around the sports fields, and the needed electrical equipment (lights, cables etc.) provided to complete the works.

Impact

 Installing the lights significantly improves the conditions of sports life in Novi Karlovci. Trainings can be held regularly and matches organized in the evening hours as well. Besides the improvement of sports life, this improves social life in this settlement by encouraging the gathering of young people in the evening through sports activities as well as cultural and educational manifestations which help induce young people and adults to have a healthy and socially acceptable life, also giving refugees the opportunity to socialize and integrate into the community.
