Problem |
Every citizens' meeting in Starčevo identified community concern
over the environmental problems negatively impacting quality of life
in this community. Among those problems were garbage from the
winter, wild garbage dumps, the low number of trees in surrounding
areas and low environmental awareness of population. |

Solution |
In
order to solve the environmental problems and promote environmental
awareness among citizens to improve their own living area, the
community of Starčevo mobilized its resources, including the local
public utility service to improve the environment by cleaning,
planting trees and conducting environmental workshops for the
population. |
|
Impact |
A
high number of the nearly 7,000 citizens of Starčevo, which includes
550 refugees, contributed so that the whole community benefited from
this project and the environmental awareness of citizens increased.
